Privacy Policy
Askr lets people build questionnaires and collect answers through WhatsApp. This page explains what we collect, why, and how long we keep it. It covers two different groups: creators who build forms, and respondents who answer them.
What we collect from creators
When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, profile picture, and Google account identifier. We use these to create your account, show you which forms are yours, and sign you in on later visits. We never receive your Google password, and we request no access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts, or calendar.
We also store the forms you create — their questions, settings, and responses.
What we collect from respondents
When someone answers a form on WhatsApp, we store:
- the answers they submit
- their WhatsApp phone number and WhatsApp profile name, as supplied by Meta
- the time the response was submitted
This information is shown to the creator of that form, and to nobody else. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
Messages we send
We only message a respondent after they message us first, and only to deliver the form they asked for plus a confirmation once they submit. We do not send marketing messages, and we do not add anyone to a mailing list.
Who else processes this data
- Meta Platforms — delivers the WhatsApp messages and the form itself. Their handling is governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
- Google — authenticates creators signing in.
- Vercel — hosts the application.
- Our database provider — stores forms and responses.
How long we keep it
Responses are kept until the creator deletes the form or their account. Deleting a form deletes its responses. Deleting your account deletes your forms and their responses. Backups are cycled out within 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Respondents who want their answers removed can contact either the creator of the form or us directly, and we will act on the request within 30 days.
Security
Data is transmitted over TLS and stored on managed infrastructure with access limited to the people who operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise — please do not use Askr to collect information you could not tolerate being exposed, such as payment card numbers or government identity numbers.
Children
Askr is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects how we use existing data, notify creators by email.
